In Wetlet town, Sagaing Region, the revolutionary coalition forces routed two rebel columns that were advancing from the city towards the villages. About one hundred rebels were killed and nine were captured alive in the two columns. The revolutionary groups that managed to route the rebel columns were groups that had participated in the 1027 operations in northern Shan and had returned to Sagaing Region. After gaining experience and weapons from northern Shan, they were able to route the military council troops.
This is the second time that the military council troops that came out to burn and destroy villages have been routed in Sagaing Region. In November 2024, the revolutionary groups were able to route the rebels in a column. Since then, the rebels have not dared to roam around in Sagaing Region as they used to. They began to live on the defensive in the cities they controlled. Although the military situation in Sagaing Region is slowly but steadily improving, the revolutionary groups will still have to try to completely capture the cities.
