The AA army has finally captured the last remaining military council border post in Maungdaw town, on the Bangladesh border in northern Rakhine State. The AA had been blockaded and attacked the post for nearly two months to capture it. In addition to the military council troops, the Rohingya ARSA troops also fought in the post. Maungdaw town has been the scene of many Rohingya ethnic conflicts, so the AA has been able to control it quite well. With this capture, the AA now controls the border trade posts and the entire Myanmar-Bangladesh border. Therefore, the military council’s four-pronged blockade of Rakhine State will no longer be effective.
The general in charge of the border guard post was fleeing with about a hundred men, so the AA was looking for him to capture him. The camp, which had no escape and no reinforcements, was stubbornly resisting under the orders of the general, so the AA had a hard time taking it. The AA controlled the entire area, so it was unlikely that they would escape.
