After a failed coup in South Korea, I was forced to flee the country due to the offensive by the Syrian dictator Assad and the rebel forces. The Syrian rebel forces launched a major offensive and captured the capital Damascus within two weeks. The dictator Assad fled to Russia. Assad brutally killed about 300,000 people in the civil war that began in 2011. Now, 13 years later, his life has come to an end.
The situation in Myanmar is similar to Syria. The uprising against the military dictator Min Aung Hlaing is about to complete four years. Although I hope that Min Aung Hlaing will finally be overthrown, I pray that it will not last 13 years like Syria.
