The KIA launched an attack on Bhamo, Kachin State this morning. Bhamo is the second largest city in Kachin State. It is also attacking the neighboring town of Mansi. The KIA has occupied Momauk, east of Bhamo, for months and has also captured a Kakin battalion in Bhamo. Therefore, the junta forces are now under attack in Bhamo as they continue to advance to retake Momauk. Today, Bhamo University and several junta bases around the city were captured. This operation is said to be the largest in the history of the KIA.
