The revolutionary groups have retreated from Pale Township, Sagaing Region, but the military council is still waging a brutal campaign. The group that brought reinforcements by helicopter to Pale Township is the same as the one that killed and beheaded people in Butalin Township. The military group immediately burned down the village of Alay Bon in the north of the town. After that, tens of thousands of locals fled as the war lines advanced on the surrounding villages.
In the following days, the rebels poured gasoline on people’s houses in Pale Town and burned them down. Many houses in the town have also been destroyed. The rebels are destroying every area they attack with a land grab, as they did before.
In fact, it has often been said that it is not appropriate to fight battles to capture the town in an area like Pale, which is only about 30 miles from the Northwestern Military District Headquarters. It is not certain whether they will be able to capture it or hold it. It would be more effective if the forces that are currently attacking and occupying those areas could be reinforced in the towns of Innaw and Htee Chin in upper Sagaing Region, where they are currently conducting offensives. However, this is not as it seems, as many revolutionary groups within Sagaing Region have split off. As long as these groups cannot unite, the fighting will continue.
