The military council bombed Mogok, which was held by the TNLA, from the air last night, killing 15 people and destroying at least 10 houses. The bombings targeted residential areas in the east and west of Mogok around 11:30 pm yesterday. There were also injuries, but the exact number is not known. According to television footage released this morning, the airstrikes severely damaged the solidly built buildings.
Mogok, known for its famous ruby gemstones, was captured by the TNLA-led coalition in July. Since the city was retaken, the military has been inciting heavy air strikes through its propaganda telegram channels. This is the first time Mogok has been bombed.
