His election as president has left both Burmese activists and revolutionary forces in despair. Donald Trump, let alone helping the Burmese cause, does not even know where Burma is. In addition, he has embraced the principle that the American people come first. He is strongly opposed to immigrants coming to his country. His election as president will at least make it difficult for those seeking political asylum in Burma.
