The military group that has been invading Butalin Township, Sagaing Region, has killed 14 local residents. On October 4, an 80-strong military group that had been invading Butalin Township from the Northwestern Military Command (Monsha-Namakha) in Monywa entered Butalin Township on October 9 and raided the town’s neighborhoods and surrounding villages, killing people without reason. The group killed six members of a family, including the owner of a grocery store in Bandula Kwethit Township, and killed seven people from Mrauk Kyi Village on the same day. They have taken about 50 local residents hostage and are using women as human shields as they continue to attack.

The military group has entered Butalin Township and is killing innocent people, The rampage of looting and looting in villages is a response to the fact that on September 30, about 90 military personnel were attacked and captured by the revolutionary groups as they left Kutaw village police station for Butalin town.

Currently, due to the rampage of the military, the people of the villages in Butalin area are avoiding the military convoy.
