Dr. Zaw Myint Maung, who was the chief minister of Mandalay during the previous civilian government, has passed away. He was unjustly arrested and imprisoned along with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi since the military coup. Although he was suffering from leukemia, he was not given the necessary medical treatment in prison. He was taken to Mandalay Hospital after his illness worsened. He had been unconscious since yesterday and passed away today. While he was unconscious, the military council even came to read him the pardon. It was granted amnesty because he was sure he was going to die, not because he was generous. Now, a valuable martyr for the country has been killed by the military council in an elaborate way.
