Most of the flood-affected areas across the country have receded, but there are still two areas that have yet to recede. Loikaw, Karenni State Mobre towns and Inlay areas of Shan.

Karenni State has been experiencing floods ever since the flood of the Bulu River and the continuous release of water from the Moe Bae Dam. In Loikow, the water is rising to the center of the city and rising even more. Due to the military council’s blockade, charity aid and relief groups are unable to travel freely. It is the same in Mobre. Because of the sea.

Villages in the famous Inle Lake in Shan Mountain have been flooded with houses due to the rising lake water. Since the villages are located in Inle Lake, they have been living on the water since the beginning. People are not aware that these villages are flooded, so help has not arrived yet.

The flood proneness of the Inle and Loikaw areas cannot go down as quickly as in the plains. When it rained heavily due to the storm, there were many creeks flowing into Inle Lake, and there was only one giant creek that could drain the water back out of the lake. Because the Balu River is overflowing, the water can’t go down quickly in Loi Ko. It is known that this situation can last up to a month.
