Domestic fuel shortages have reoccurred. Especially in the big cities of central Myanmar, it is the worst. In Mandalay, the shops that open because the big petrol shops are closed, people are queuing up for motorcycle and car fuel. The line of cars and motorcycles lined up for fuel is about 2 miles long. If you don’t want to line up for a long time at those shops, you have to buy more than 2 times the price at small gas stations outside. At those small shops, there is more or less standing in line.
There has been a severe fuel shortage in Mandalay for about a week now. Other big cities such as Pyin Oo Lwin, Sagaing It’s the same in cities like Taunggyi. The Military Council gave the excuse of bad traffic conditions due to floods. Actually, they are running out of dollars again. The people are out of work and have to queue for gas.
