Due to the rise in the water level of the Irrawaddy River, thousands of villagers have been evacuated from the area where the river enters the town of Myitkyina in Kachin State. As the water entered the houses in most of the neighborhoods along the banks of the Irrawaddy River, the residents started fleeing from the night. Yesterday morning, almost all of Myitkyina’s neighborhoods started to experience flooding due to the inundation of river water. All markets are closed. The monastery where the locals were saved from the flood. They take shelter in places like Christian churches.
Myitkyina-based Red Cross; The rescue team and some social aid groups of Christian churches are doing rescue work, but there is a shortage of boats, and some boats have no fuel, so it is difficult to use them. As for the military council, it seems that they are not doing any relief work. As it is still raining in Myitkyina city, the rising of the river may get worse.
