On the 3rd day of its offensive in Kachin State, the KIA has captured about 20 military council camps. Phakant from Kachin State Wainmao, they are mainly seizing military bases near cities such as Van Mao. Among the small camps captured by the KIA yesterday was the Lisu People’s Army Camp stationed near Aung Mnyu Village in Wainmao Township.

In that battle, U Shwe Min, the leader of the Lisu militia loyal to the military council, which is a powerful authority among the Lisu ethnic groups in the region, was killed. U Shwe Min was a militia leader trusted by the generals of Nay Pyi Taw, and became the first militia leader to fall during the revolution.

In Karen State, the KNU may seize the 355th Khmara Battalion in the town of Thakan Nyingnaung. 355, 356 and 357 in Thin Gan Nyi Naung has now captured one of its three battalions and is continuing its offensive to capture the other two. KNU has announced that they can keep half of the city of Kok Krait. They are trying to conquer areas.
