I think the military council is really short of dollars. Yesterday, at a meeting of business leaders, they threatened to jail people if they found illegal dollars in their hands. In addition to this, the companies have been threatened with legal action if they do not pay back the full amount of export revenue dollars. They alleged that there are still about 2 billion dollars to be returned in the hands of traders. Knowing that the people still have dollars in their hands, the military council is not letting that money come to them, but they are dirtying it. No matter how they threaten, I don’t think it will be very special. The reason this is happening is because the international community is getting dirty on their necks.
While the military council threatened to imprison anyone holding dollars, the NUG Spring Bank announced that they could safely deposit with them. NUG is trying to seize the opportunity, but they are not ready yet. Spring Bank is just the beginning. Not everyone can open an account yet. It is known that it will actually start operating by the end of this month.
