This morning, a battle broke out between the Military Council Army and the Karen Joint Forces in the town of Kyar Inn Seik Gyi. The Karen joint forces launched an initial attack on the infantry headquarters starting from midnight yesterday and lasting until the morning. After that, Karen joint forces stormed the district police office and departmental offices in the city. It is reported that the military council used heavy weapons and aerial support in the battle. During the battle, there were civilian casualties, and the military council’s aerial fire and artillery shelling damaged the city’s monastery and some residential buildings, and at least 1 monk and 4 civilians were killed.
This is the 2nd time this year that the revolutionary forces attacked the city of Khar Inn Seik Gyi. The first time was in early January when KNU and PDF forces clashed. The city of is in the territory of the KNU Brigade (6).
