Strong Cyclone Mokha passed through Sittwe this morning. Winds were over a hundred miles and the storm surge was up to twenty feet. We heard that some neighborhoods in Sittwe were flooded and some residents who did not move were trapped. At the moment, we are unable to help and rescue. The tallest communication tower in Sittwe City has been partially broken. There are no reports of casualties due to the fact that phone lines and internet lines are down.
After passing through Sittwe, the storm will continue to enter Sagaing, which is suffering from the war. The NUG has reported that it has not set up a relief fund of one million dollars.
