The ASEAN meeting ended with the usual condemnation of the Myanmar issue. Since Indonesia is the rotating chairman of ASEAN this year, I was hoping that there would be some changes in the affairs of Myanmar, but only half a year has passed. Nothing special happened. The Indonesian side said that they are secretly meeting with all the stakeholders. But I don’t think anything special will happen. The world has forced ASEAN to take charge of the entire Myanmar issue. As ASEAN can’t do anything, I think it will continue like this without any effective action against the military council.
