The military council suddenly suspended the issuance of passports earlier this month. It has been suspended in all major cities across the country where there are branches. To apply for a passport in Yangon, you have to submit a QR Booking first. The number of applicants at the Yangon office is the highest in the whole country. In Yangon, they only accept 2,500 per day, but they are actually serving about 5,000 per day. People have to stand in line every day and suffer. QR Booking has been blocked since last month. Now booking, all those who want to make passports are in trouble because of the sudden suspension of the book making as well as the issuing of the book without any reason.
Some have agreed to be employed abroad and are no longer able to obtain a passport. Some of them don’t know what to do after they have all planned to attend a scholar’s school. The worst are those who go to the doctor for health. Due to the actions of the military council, this country is about to die. The current situation is that it can only be done with the signature of members of the military council in Nay Pyi Taw. It is a situation where people are unable to do anything, no matter how important it is, because it is not announced for sure when and where it will be opened.
