The international blow to the military council that I mentioned yesterday must be divided into three parts.
The first is that Indonesia became the rotating chairman of ASEAN. Indonesia is the largest democracy in ASEAN. It is the top among the ASEAN countries that do not like the military council. It is believed that Indonesia, which strongly criticized the coup d’état, will handle the Burmese issue effectively, unlike Brunei and Cambodia, when he became the rotating president. At the last ASEAN summit, to set a time for the military council. He told not to attend any other meeting at the ministerial level. Therefore, in 2023, the military council can no longer fool ASEAN like before. This is a blow to the military leaders.
The second is the decision of the Security Council. The decision of the Security Council, which has never existed in the history of Myanmar, took place during the time of the current military leaders. It just shows how stupid military council is. At the moment, there are no actions on that decision, but it can be said that a way to deal with the military council has begun to emerge. If the military leaders continue to be stupid, it could end quickly.
The last one is the US NDAA. This year’s US NDAA included the entire Burma Acts, which included almost everything but weapons for pro-democracy support. The above two blows have no immediate effect on the War Council, but this one will take effect in sixty days. And aid will come directly to the ground, and the impact on the revolution will be huge. This is why the military council is most afraid of this one. But as a military council, nothing can be countered.
These big blows hit the political-military council. It is impossible for them to heal at this point. For those who are on the side of democracy, it’s like getting drugs. So we can say that the revolution has just started.
