Kayah State, about 5,000 war-affected refugees in the western part of Fruso Township are facing food shortages and are in need of emergency food.
Since the beginning of 2022, the war refugees who have been fleeing due to the intensifying fighting have been living on donations from donors. Now the Internet, phone lines have been cut; It has been almost two months since we have been unable to distribute food due to the difficulty of transportation and rising prices.
Fighting broke out on the main road where people fleeing the war from Fhruso Township were transporting food, and the military council troops blocked the road. It’s the rainy season and traffic is worse. Currently, seasonal flu is common among children in military evacuation camps, and they are dying due to lack of medicine and health care. That’s why medicine is needed.
Currently, there are about 300,000 war refugees in the entire Kayah state.
