Fighting continues in KNU Brigade 6 area, Kawkareik, Karen State. The KNU is attacking the military council camps one by one, and the military council is increasing its forces. As a result, the Asia Highway in the area remains closed. Some sidewalks are being destroyed almost every day. The KNU has issued a notice not to use that road, but the one who took the risk is still going. Trade with Thailand has almost come to a standstill as the road has been closed. Trade across the Chinese border is not yet well-open, which could lead to short-term shortages in the long run.
