NUG also celebrated the 75th anniversary of the Panglong Agreement, coinciding with the Union Day celebrations held yesterday by the military council. The ceremony was more successful than the military council, which was attended not only by ethnic groups but also by international representatives. The peace talks between the military council and the EAOs were held in Naypyidaw. The participating groups did not succeed as expected due to the absence of leaders.
The military council released more than 800 prisoners on Union Day, but did not include political prisoners.
