An order to block information from the public came into force yesterday. There, a SIM card costs 1,500 kyat to 20,000 kyat. This was restricted to the use of SIM cards by revolutionary forces to detonate remote-controlled mines. As before, a SIM card is slowly returning to the 500,000 Laks era.

To make matters worse, a recent 15 per cent tax was levied on the rising price of mobile data usage. This time, it also covers home fiber internet services. The price of mobile data has become quite difficult for the basic people. People in small towns with no fiber internet have almost no access to the internet. As the flow of information slows down, public participation will decrease. This could jeopardize the revolution. If not done quickly, the whole country could be imprisoned in a dark world.
