In many townships in Rangoon, the Electricity Department under the military council is cutting off houses electricity. Many houses in Rangoon have not been billed for electricity since the coup. Some houses have a total debt of about 1,000,000 kyats. There may have been a series of bombings at electricity offices in previous months.

This month, the military council cut off electricity on homes and streets that did not pay for bills. So, some have to pay for it because they afraid of without electricity. These circumstances have led to the failure of the electricity strike. In addition to targeting electricity tax offices, people need to come up with new ways to prevent bill payments.
