The army is launching an offensive in Chin State and simultaneously in upper Sagaing Division. Helicopters are being used to reinforce areas such as Kawlin, Htee Chaing and Katha under the name of Operation Alaungpaya. In recent days, there have been heavy clashes with local defense forces. The military has been using helicopter gunships yesterday to provide air support due to heavy casualties.
PDFs in those areas have been faced strongly. At least 30 to forty rebels were killed in a single battle. According to official figures, more than 100 military dogs have been killed in recent fighting alone. Fighting continues to intensify, and local people are fleeing their homes as usual. Villages are being set on fire by insurgents.
