We warned each other through the messages that the military dictators would do by using psycho wars, evil ideas to the people to take to the streets. At the moment, we cannot go out and protest. The 72-hour campaign still lingers in our heads.
The junta has tightened its grip. It is said that the internet connection will be shut down completely. If government employees do not go to work, they must leave the staff quarters within 24 hours. It broadcasts news that the current 5,000 kyats and 10,000 kyats will be declared illegal. People go to banks to deposit money and some withdraw and spend it. So, we all are busy in that cases.
On the other hand, the train rerun several times a day instead of twice a day in the Covid-19 period. They also announced the pagodas will reopen which was closed for Covid-19. Covid-19 is almost forgotten because we are facing political instability and domestic economic instability.
The civil Disobedience Movement became popular. Health workers started first. It is a protest against the junta. More health workers and engineers came along. Then, the company staff participated. We post on social media like “I am an employee. Taxes are paid monthly. Civil servants protesting against the junta. I stand with them and I promise to help what my country needs. We are against the military coup.”
The front liners in Covid-19. To overthrow the junta, we want government employees to run CDM campaigns.
Everyone commented that it was more accurate to say that Min Aung Hlaing and his group were insurgents than as dictators. The people’s government was arrested without any valid reason for violating the law by force of arms. People are threatened. The military has usurped state power and started reforming ministries to their liking. For example, Thet Thet Khine from the PPP party, which lost by a landslide with only 11 votes, was nominated as Minister of Social Welfare, Relief, and Resettlement. Writer Chit Naing was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The Red Ribbon Campaign comes with opposing military coup with pots, pans, and car horns at 8 pm. But it does not seem to be very effective. Some also say they are fake. It is said that the junta deliberately forced its staff to work in the offices to appease the people.
