After the AA occupied almost the entire Rakhine State, Bangladesh, which shares a border with the AA in northern Rakhine, has been engaging with the AA. The Bangladeshi government itself has said that the engagement with the AA is necessary. The situation on the Bangladesh-Myanmar border has changed. The military council has completely lost its influence along the border line and the AA is in control. This fact cannot be ignored.
With these engagements, border trade routes have reopened and the AA can be freed from the pressure of the military council’s sanctions. In addition, Bangladesh has accepted the UN’s recommendation to build a humanitarian corridor for the Rohingya along the border line. Therefore, there is a possibility that some international aid will enter through the western border.
