The KIA has attacked and captured all military council camps in the hills near Laiza, the headquarters of the KIA in Kachin State. During the week-long operation that began on March 7th, all the military council camps that threatened the city with heavy weapons from the hills near Laiza were captured today. Those camps were occupied more than 10 years ago by the military army in a mass offensive against the KIA. At that time, the army columns had reached the vicinity of Laiza. There are about 200 people in the surrendered battalion, and half of them are military families. Due to KIA’s blockade attack, they surrendered because they could not break through and escape.
