Although the military commission has gained ground on almost all fronts across the country, there is one front where it has not yet been able to advance. That area is Rakhine State. Fighting has been intense in Kyaukphyu Township in Rakhine State and in areas bordering Rakhine and abroad for a long time. The military commission has repeatedly launched attacks but has failed and is retreating. Some of the AA troops are even close to the factories, so the military commission is fiercely defending them.
The military commission has included three townships in southern Rakhine in the list of elections, and they want them back. Since the AA-controlled towns have been attacked by land, it is almost impossible to get them back before the elections.
