The Karenni State Military Commission is trying to regain the territories they lost in northern Chin State. Since the beginning of this month, they have been advancing in large numbers into the Chin Mountains. The military lines are based in Kalay Township, Sagaing Region. They are advancing from Kalay to the Chin State side and then entering Titin Township. They are reinforcing their forces on the ground with heavy and small arms. They are also deploying more forces on Titin Town.
In Chin State, where the revolutionary groups are strong, the Karenni State Military Commission has lost more than half of its territory. In the second week of May this year, the military attempted to advance into northern Chin State. At that time, after more than a month and a half of fierce fighting due to the interception of the Chin Revolutionary Joint Forces, the military retreated to Kalay. Now, as the election approaches, they are again advancing into northern Chin State with full force.
