The military commission has banned Daw Thet Thet Khaing, the chairwoman of the PPP Party, from contesting the election. The reason for the ban is that she has not yet been able to repay billions of baht borrowed from banks.
Daw Thet Khaing previously ran for the NLD and won. However, she left the NLD and founded the PPP. She ran in the 2020 election but did not win a seat. Daw Thet Khaing’s party was among the parties that called for the military to take power. After the coup, she was given a minor ministerial position in the military council government. Now, the military no longer wants her and has kicked her out on flimsy grounds. Since she is no longer allowed to contest the election, she is no longer allowed to even bite the bone. No one is sad for someone who betrayed the people.
