The United Nations says that nearly a third of Myanmar’s population, facing political instability, is in need of assistance because of the war. After the coup, the number of displaced persons reached nearly 1 and a half million,000,000,000—a number that did not include war refugees who had been in the mountains before the coup.
Since United Nations assistance is being provided through the Military Council, the group does not really reach anywhere in need. The United Nations is not even used for refugee assistance, and people continue to survive with help from one another.
