The ASEAN Summit, which excludes Myanmar, begins today. ASEAN has only invited the Secretary of State for the Military Council. However, the military council boycotted the meeting, saying it would not be attended by Min Aung Hlaing. ASEAN leaders have strongly criticized Min Aung Hlaing in their discussions on Burma. This is the first unpopular summit in Asean history, but in order to save Burma, it’s not enough to left Min Aung Hlaing in the meeting.
